Discovering Dahlia

This is the last in the Blue Orchid Society.  I really have enjoyed this series.
This one was no exception, though a bit predictable.  There was a bit of a mystery though so that added to the fun.  I would have given this a G rating but even though the kissing scene was not over the top, it also could have been a little more tame for my taste.  It wasn't so much that I felt it fair to give it a {Too Much Passion} rating...just not a G :)  make sense?
Anyway, the only real complaint I had with it was that the reveal of whodunnit seemed quite rushed and underdeveloped.  I would have like more explanation.  Other than that, I could easily recommend this book.

Northanger Abbey

I remember seeing an old version of this movie a few times when  I was younger but it had been quite a while.  Just remembering the gist of the story without recalling the ending made me curious as I read.  I found humor in some of Austen's sarcastic passages but there were also times I was a little bored by the flowery wording.  I found the movie had exaggerated the heroine's daydreaming of gothic romance...at least, I recognized just a handful of references in the book that suggested at it.  And then the ending, that I was so looking forward to rediscovering, seemed a bit anticlimactic and rushed.  Overall it was enjoyable though.  There were some instances of the Lord's name being taken in vain...especially by one particular character...so that is why I gave it the {Language} rating.
I could recommend this book but it is not one of my favorite of Jane Austen's.
