I have enjoyed the Blue Orchid Society Series.
Jennifer Moore is an excellent author.
That being said, this was not the best in the series in my opinion.
It was good and sweet but probably my 3rd favorite of the four.
The only issue I had (which, I don't know that I truly take issue with it because it showed consequences and didn't condone the behavior) was the {Backstory}.  A character who we never meet has an immoral past and his illegitimate child is a main character in this story.
I can recommend this book even though it wasn't my favorite of the series.  It is still worth a read and is really quite clean :)

This was a sweet book, although, of the Blue Orchid Society series so far, it was not my favorite.  Although it was a good story it just didn't move along quickly for me.
I don't recall anything objectionable in it and can therefore recommend it without reservation.

I was worried that after I ended up liking the first Blue Orchid Society book (Solving Sophronia) so much that I would be disappointed with the rest of the series.  However, number 2 did not let me down and my confidence in the rest of the series is strong!
Such a cute, sweet book and a mild murder mystery to boot!
Loved the story, the characters and everything.
There was just one mild {Uncomfortable Moment} that I can recall...not really enough of which to even make mention but I did...so there you go :)

Excitedly Recommend!

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book!
First of all, it is squeaky clean!!!  (I did rate it as PG because it is a murder mystery and there are some descriptions that aren't too gruesome but at the same time might be a bit unsettling.  However, I didn't feel like it needed the additional rating of {Subject Matter}).
Secondly, squeaky clean + murder mystery is a double thumbs up in my book!
I didn't realize it would be a murder mystery, nor did I realize it is the first in a new series!  I realize the rest in the series most likely will not be mysteries but I am still looking forward to reading about the rest of the ladies in the Blue Orchid Society!
Lastly, the characters are so very likable...right down to the taxidermist constable :)
I thought Jennifer Moore did a fantastic job of developing the characters along with the story.  They are relatable and lovable!
I heartily recommend this one!

I seriously loved this one!
I always enjoy Jennifer Moore's books but I like some better than others.  I thought for some reason this one would be in the "others" category but I was pleasantly surprised early on in reading it that I could already tell it would be one of my favorites.
I don't know what it was but the plot was just right, the characters very likable and everything just fit together really nicely...even with a twist thrown in :)
I didn't have any objections to this book and will definitely recommend it with no hesitations!

This was a sweet collection of holiday stories.  There were just a couple of times that I was the slightest bit uncomfortable with a kissing scene but overall, it was very clean and enjoyable.

I really liked this clean, sweet story.
There were some battle scenes but they were tastefully done.
The plot reminded me a bit of The Scarlet Pimpernell, which was not a bad thing.
I'm always pleased with Jennifer Moore's books.  She definitely does a lot of research and puts a good amount of history in her stories.
There was just one loose end which wasn't tied up by the end and I wonder if that is because we will read about it in an upcoming book :)

I love Jennifer Moore's books but for some reason, I didn't expect to love this one as much...I don't know why.  However, it ended up being one of my favorites of hers.  I was very pleased with the twists and turns it took.  There were a few moments where I was genuinely surprised by the events that took place.  It was definitely not ALL predictable :)
I found the romantic moments just a tiny, tiny bit uncomfortable but not terrible.
Although it is a war story, the blood and gore were handled quite tactfully.
It was kind of interesting reading a book where the Americans are the "enemy" :)...a bit of a paradigm shift.
Definitely worth a read!

So for some reason I could not find a review for this one...I must have spaced writing about it after I finished it.  It's a good thing I remember how I felt about it though.

I loved this one!  I had never read anything else by Krista Lynne Jensen or Anita Stansfield but I enjoyed all four stories.
I don't remember anything I didn't like in any of them.
This one is definitely a two thumbs up and I might reread it each Christmas season :)

There were just 1 or 2 {UM}
and the {TMP} was really very borderline...almost didn't mention it.

I had one real issue with the story.
I didn't feel like the main man's reaction at the climax of the story was very realistic.  However, it didn't ruin the book for me.
I loved the Scottish brogue in the dialogue :)

Miss Whitaker Opens Her Heart

I have to admit, I am often a bit embarrassed when people ask what kind of books I like to read.
I don't like the stereotype that comes to most minds when I respond "Romances".
I will often say "Historical Fiction" which is also a true answer...I love historical fiction and I slyly think to myself that Regency Romances could be thrown into that category as well since the Regency Era was an historical period...right? ;)
I guess I feel like I should be spending my time reading more than just "fluff" for lack of a better word.  That's why I like it when "romances" have a bit more substance to them.

Such as in...

Jennifer Moore is one of those few authors that I know I can preorder her books and not be sorry I own them after I have read them.  Hers have always been clean and sweet.

Here's the breakdown of my rating:

{UM}?  {TMP}?  {GS}?
Easily Recommend

Okay, I have to explain...I think that because I am now reviewing these online I am being extra picky :)...hence all the question marks.  I don't know that I would have given any of these three in my private, written reviews.  I just want to make sure I'm covering all my bases.

The one {UM} I can think of is when she comes upon him refreshing himself in a river without a shirt on.

The {GS} is not really that graphic and it isn't violent but I thought I should include it as it might disturb some people :)  It could also be categorized as an {UM}.
The main female character owns a sheep ranch and assists one of the ewes giving birth.  It isn't explained in great detail and is tastefully done.  However, if you didn't grow up on a farm or watching Dr. Harriot doing the the same thing in All Creatures Great and Small like I did, then it might be a tad alarming.

The {TMP} was really not that bad, but again, extra picky!
I guess now I feel like I should mention anything beyond it saying 'he kissed her'...which, let's be honest, no one ever writes that :)
It always kind of bugs me a bit when the phrase 'he deepened the kiss' is used...Jennifer uses it once in this book so maybe that's why I felt it earned this rating.

Overall, I loved the story!  The substance I mentioned earlier is an internal battle that the female protagonist wages in her heart about trust and forgiveness.  I felt it added quite a bit of depth.

Thanks to Jennifer Moore for another lovely Regency!

*** An added bonus about Jennifer is that she often writes about countries other than England and through these wonderful books, you learn about new cultures and geographic lands.  For instance, in Miss Whitaker she describes an Echidna, and Australian mammal.  I had to look it up and see what it looked like because I was so curious :)
