Could Recommend but Won't

This book was fine but it didn't blow me out of the water.

I did like that it had a bit of a mystery element but it wasn't the focus.

I think unless a book comes extremely highly recommended, or is by a certain author that I know I enjoy, I will from now on forgo this specific genre of fluffy regency.  I need a little more beef such as I find in several historical fiction authors that I like.  There just is not a lot of depth in novels like this and I want to spend my time reading things that I know I will enjoy.

So...I could recommend this book based on there being nothing objectionable, but I can't recommend it because of its lack of depth.

Could Easily Recommend

I ended up really enjoying this book.

There was a murder (a little later in the book) but it wasn't the focus and so I wouldn't really call it a Murder Mystery...it was quite a simple "mystery" to solve but it did add a bit of intrigue.

Really, the only thing I had against it was the {Back Story}.  Even though it was a major part of the story, it wasn't looked upon favorably or condoned so I guess it was handled well.

I liked how she handled the kissing scenes...just very minimal description and quick :)

Could Recommend

I did like that this book had a more intriguing and deep plot than a lot of books set in this period.

It was not all flowers and sunshine.  However, I did feel like the couple of kissing scenes contained a tad {Too Much Passion} for me.  Probably most people would find nothing wrong with them but I would have liked them toned down just a bit.

I could recommend this book.  It wasn't exceptional but it was better than many.

I liked this book but I don't think I LOVED it.

It was a nice, predictable story with nothing to which I objected.

I don't have much more to say about it other than I could recommend it without hesitation based on its cleanliness and lack of offense :)

I can't think of anything I didn't appreciate in this book.  It was all very appropriate in my opinion.

There was a bit of a mystery which is always a good thing.

It was just a little bit slow for me but that could have just been the mood I was in.  However, I would have no problem recommending this book to anyone!

It's been a few days since I finished this book and I have the worst memory so I hope I can remember what I wanted to say about it :)

I liked the plot, characters etc...

The {Back Story} is more of an ongoing story...

One of the characters is single and expecting a baby. 

It wasn't a book that really grabbed me but I did enjoy it while I was reading.

Easily Recommend

This is a new series by Sarah Ladd and after reading this first installment, I am happy to report that it was quite clean and will look forward to the next books in the series.

There was just a tiny bit {Too Much Passion} for my taste but not enough to keep me from recommending it.  I thought the plot was intriguing and the characters likable.

Two thumbs up!

Since I am reviewing books right now that I read months ago and my memory is not what I would like it to be, I probably won't expound too much.  

I did jot down the basics however when I finished them so I do not have to rely on my subpar memory for the ratings :)

Easily Recommend!

I wrote that it was a very clean and sweet story.

I had no complaints about it whatsoever.

Sarah's first series that I read, The Whispers on the Moors, I did have a few complaints with back stories and a little too much passion.  However, this whole Treasures of Surrey series has been delightfully clean!
