The Mysterious Affair at Styles

Could Recommend

I can't remember if this is the first Hercule Poirot mystery I've actually read or not but I did thoroughly enjoy it.  The only thing that really bothered me was a sprinkling of mild {Language}.  It was not enough to make me quit the book but it was definitely there.  Then, of course, there is the {Subject Matter} of murder and usually with that topic the possible motive of an affair is introduced as well.  These were the only points of objection in this book.  I enjoyed the mystery and the way Christie leads you along guessing it's one person and then another.  (I was only partially correct in guessing the murderer :)
I could recommend this book to someone that doesn't mind a little bit of language.

Not Recommend

This one had more {Language} than the other Poirot mysteries I've read :(...not stronger, just more frequent.
There were also a couple of {Uncomfortable Moments} surrounding a certain character.
As always though, a genius plot and I couldn't guess who dunnit.
Sadly though, I can't recommend this one because of the language.

Evil Under the Sun

Probably Not Recommend

I think I am going to enjoy all of Agatha Christie's mysteries to a degree because I love mysteries.  However, this one did have some things that bothered me.
There seemed to be about the same amount of {Language} as in the last one (which was just enough to not make me put it down) until the last couple of chapters and then it picked up :(  If that amount of swearing had been at the beginning or middle of the book I probably wouldn't have finished it.
Also, this one did revolve around infidelity {Subject Matter} which always bothers me.  It didn't go into any detail but you know there is a relationship going on.
All things considered, although I did enjoy the mystery, I will most likely not be recommending this one.

After the Funeral

Could Probably Recommend

If I have ever read an Agatha Christie before it has been a very long time.  I don't know why I haven't read them all since I love a good mystery!
There is a rather violent murder committed though it is described quite tamely {Violence}.
There is also some mention of infidelity {Back Story} but it is not a large part of the story.
The thing that bothered me the most though was some {Language}.  It wasn't frequent or strong enough to make me put it down but it was pushing it for me.  I did not keep actual count but I would say there were about 10 instances of mild swearing.
I feel that I could recommend this book with a warning of the language.
