Misleading Miss Verity

***
PG
{UM} a little {TMP}
Could Probably Recommend

One huge bonus for this book is that it is set mainly in Scotland...and I am on somewhat of a Scottish kick right now...desperately hoping that one day I will be able to visit the highlands.  I particularly am interested in seeing the Isle of Skye!  It looks AMAZING!!!
Aside from the setting, I did enjoy the plot and some of the characters though it didn't grip me like some books do.
There were definitely a few moderate to highly {Uncomfortable Moments} and the kissing scenes were just barely on the verge of {Too Much Passion} for me.
Overall though, I don't think I would feel bad about recommending it to someone.

A Hero For Miss Hatherleigh

PG
{UM} {L} {a tiny bit TMP}
Hesitantly Recommend (Maybe with Explanation)

So I almost gave up on this book after the first chapter or so...
There were so many different names mentioned and I was having a hard time keeping track of everyone.  I feel silly admitting it, but I was confused :)
Anyway, I stuck with it and it soon became much easier to follow.
There were just a few {Uncomfortable Moments} but the biggest problem for me in this book was the {Language}.  Her use of God's name was, most of the time, probably considered by most, to not be in vain....more like a prayer I guess.  However, there was at least once where it definitely was not a prayer.  Also, the frequency which she did use it was too much for me since it makes me uncomfortable no matter what.  It is a Christian book and actually speaks quite freely about the Savior and who He is...so there is that :)
Also, just one kissing scene but the wording pushed it just a smidge for me {Too Much Passion}.
So, in conclusion, I would have a hard time recommending this book mostly because of Language.

Maybe Recommend with Explanation

For some reason I am having a hard time remembering the ratings I wanted to give this one.
I don't think I thought there was {TMP} but I do seem to recall an {UM} here or there.
Really, my biggest complaint about this book was the {L}.
Very often, the characters use the phrase, "Thank God".  Most of the time I felt like they really were...thanking Him.  For me though, it was used a bit too casually and too frequently to feel reverent and sincere.
The storyline was sweet though and I did enjoy the characters.
Oh, there is a question throughout the book of one of the main character's legitimacy of birth.  However, it wasn't a topic that was dwelt on and it was positively resolved in the end so it didn't bother me too much.

The Dishonorable Miss Delancey

{L} {UM} {TMP}
Maybe Recommend w/ Explanation

Good story, although...
{L}  There was a lot of the Lord's name where I wasn't sure if it was in vain or not...certainly not used in ways I would be comfortable with...
There were definitely some uncomfortable moments {UM}
At the end it mentions a man being eager for his wedding night and that's why I gave it a {TMP}.  Maybe that wasn't the right category but I wasn't sure how else to label it.
This is the third in a series and of the three I feel like this one is probably the cleanest.

The Captivating Lady Charlotte

PG (13?)
{L} {BSt} {G} {UM}
Probably not Recommend

There was a lot of mention of the Lord's name {L} in this one.  I recognize that not all of them were in vain (there is a lot of praying that goes on) but there were some that obviously were.
There is definitely a back story of infidelity that is referenced. {BSt}
I should have made a better note here about why I marked a {G}.  I honestly don't recall what I considered graphic but there must have been something.
There were also some {UM} mostly when he reflects on her figure etc...

A couple of extra notes about this one...
-Sometimes the writing style bothered me a bit.  I could tell that it was her way of conveying the characters' thinking patterns but it got a little old as the book went on.
-I felt like the ending was a bit over dramatic but it did tie everything up nicely :)
-I did appreciate that it ended up having some real depth that I didn't expect.
