The Lost Melody

Heartily Recommend

I am so excited to share this book!
I had high expectations because I liked her last one so much and this one did not disappoint!
Politano brings together victorian asylums and early music therapy in this novel.
It was fascinating, intriguing, haunting and beautiful!
I cannot think of anything I objected to in this book.
Of course, the subject matter could be a bit depressing at times but that is the only thing I would warn people against...a little dark and sad.
However, if you feel you can handle that, then this is a must read and I recommend it with no other reservations!

This was magnificent!!!
There were so many things I loved about this book.
For one, Joanna Politano is a beautifully talented author.  The picture of her at the end of her books makes her look like she's in her late 20's/early 30's but her writing is so mature.
I also really like how she brings God into the story...He is actually quite a main part of the story.
There is so much mystery and multiple plot twists.
The only thing I can complain about is the culture of the theater.  It is expected that the ballerinas be "sponsored" by mature, male patrons.  Part of the greatness of the main character though is that she is adamant that she not give up her moral character.
I WILL be recommending this book to friends!

Truly a lovely story!
I really like Joanna Politano because her books are more than just fluff.  She writes deeper and with meaning.  She also likes to incorporate bits of mystery of which I am always a fan!
This story keeps you guessing and has little twists and surprises throughout.
I liked her Point of View approach because she uses first and third person to relate the story and I found that very interesting.  (Maybe it's just because I'm taking a writing class and we recently discussed POV.  I don't know that I would have noticed otherwise :)
There is a bit of a {Backstory} towards the end and the slightest hint of {Too Much Passion} for my taste but otherwise a super clean novel that often points to God and His role in our lives.
I loved it and WILL recommend this book to friends!

I'll admit, this book was a bit confusing at times...I had a lot of questions but I think they were all eventually answered by the end.
It was definitely different with a very unique story line.
Towards the very end there was just a small part of a {Back Story} that I didn't like and there may have been one or two {Uncomfortable Moments} but other than that it was a very clean book...no real issues there.
There were times when I felt like it was taking too long to resolve but once it started, it happened very fast :)
I would have no problem recommending this book with its interesting mystery and sweet romance.

This was an interesting one...
It was super clean except for maybe a little bit of passion beyond my comfort level.
There was a lot of mystery and intrigue which I love :)
There were also several twists...even beyond the ones I saw coming and it ended well, wrapping up all the loose ends I could think of.
One thing I would say is that she's not a super straightforward writer.  I would find myself wondering if I was completely understanding what she was trying to say...not necessarily in a bad way, she's just one of those authors that is a little more vague and leaves things up for your interpretation.

Probably Not Recommend

Wow!  This book certainly had me engaged and kept me guessing.
I really liked the author's writing style and use of words!
However, there is quite a {BSt} that you don't find the truth of until the end of the story of course.
My only other complaint was a little {TMP}.
Joanna Politano has another book coming out this summer and I definitely will want to give it a try...hoping for no backstory and that she will keep the language and everything as clean as this one.
