Of Gold and Shadows

Easily Recommend

I really enjoyed this book!  I think Michelle Griep is an excellent author who builds great characters and knows how to make the story flow.

It was an interesting premise and included a little bit of action.

My only complaint was just one or two spots of {Too Much Passion}.  It wasn't overboard...just kind of pushing the limits a tad for my taste.  But honestly, very clean!

Glad to see this will be a series and I can enjoy more books like 'Of Gold and Shadows'!

I will easily recommend this book to friends :)

I did not enjoy this one as much as the first in the series (probably because there was not mystery) but it was still a cute story.
I have a {Language} rating just because there is frequent use of casual ways of thanking Diety...so really, not language...it probably doesn't bother anyone else but it always snags my attention :)
There is some {Backstory} that is somewhat significant but not talked about in abundance.
Also, there were one or two {Uncomfortable Moments or moments of Too Much Passion}.  Very slight and may not even need this rating but again, enough that I made mental note.
Over all, I enjoyed reading the book, liked the characters and the plot and could most likely recommend this novel.

This was a pleasant surprise for me!
I don't often read the back of a book before I begin and so I was not expecting a mystery :)
A Christmas mystery was just what I needed!
I loved the plot and characters.
What a fun read!
I could easily recommend this book and now I want to go find the second installment in this series!

I did like this book...
I feel like I need to put more things in the "objections" area of my rating but I don't know how to classify them.  There definitely was a {Backstory} that came out at the end...but then there were some other very mildly objectionable things throughout the rest of the book.  I just am not even sure what they are any more but I remember noting them in my mind at the time.  Again, they were very mild so I don't feel like it would change my mind on my ability to recommend the book.
Cute plot, fun characters and I, of course, always love a bit of mystery :)

Recommendable

This book was a pleasant surprise!
Not at all the frivolous, sappy love story that one might expect.
It was different on so many levels and I really enjoyed it!
The plot was deeper than usual, the characters had character and the writing kept me reading.
My only complaints were the continual thanking of Deity in a somewhat casual manner {Language} and a few minor {Uncomfortable Moments}.
One thing that I really came to appreciate was the narrative of an unexpected third character and his transformation.  I enjoyed reading his side of the story and being part of his journey.
With an explanation of the {L} issue I would heartily recommend this book!

The Innkeeper's Daughter

This book started out slow for me but about midway through it picked up and ended with quite a bit of action.
Besides a few {UM} the only complaint I had was that, while it is a very Christian book, she uses the Lord's name a lot and I didn't always feel that it was in a reverent way.
Quite clean otherwise!
