I will be quite honest, I was worried when I realized this book contained not one, but two penny dreadful stories within the main story line. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to remember what was going on and keep everything straight in all the different tales as it jumped around. It proved to not be that much of a problem...although, after finishing it, I am a bit confused as to how one of those penny dreadfuls connected to the main story.
The storyline was interesting enough with good characters as always.
The end is what got me though!
Such a twist!
And, you find out the identity of a character she has kept you guessing at through the entire series.
I am excited about reading the next installment later this year!
Each time a new book comes out in the Penny Dreadful series, I wonder if I want to keep up with the two different story lines again. Eventually I talk myself into it, but when I realized there three story lines (the main story and the two penny dreadful stories) I almost through in the towel right then. But I'm glad I didn't. It was a very surprising twist and character reveal at the end.
