Could Probably Recommend with Explanation

The whole premise of this book (although from my understanding is realistic for the time) bothers me.
The fact that a couple was found dancing in a room alone at a ball and the rumors go flying that she is subsequently expecting a child is so ridiculous!  Again, I get that society was like this at the time, but then, society was ridiculous :)
Because of the plot you get some {Uncomfortable Moments} and the kissing is described a little more than my tastes prefer {Too Much Passion} but other than those things it is a clean book.
I feel that I could recommend it, maybe with an explanation.

I enjoyed this book!
There were just a few things that made me a little uncomfortable...
There is a {Backstory} with an illegitimate child with one of the secondary characters.
The main character reflects multiple times on how much she enjoys kissing her boyfriend and a little more description is used than I would prefer.  She also describes a memory of a man forcing himself on her which was a little uncomfortable. {TMP}
Lastly, the other main character has a horrible childhood and he reveals that he was molested by an adult multiple times.  These events are not described though...you are just aware they happened. {SM}
So, while I didn't love these things, they do happen in real life and I felt like the book was about overcoming and rising above the negative.
Good mystery with likable characters.
I would recommend with an explantion of some of the content.

This one took me a little while to get through but it picked up toward the end.
I thought it was a pretty good story with characters I enjoyed.
While I'm not eager to go tell my friends about it I wouldn't not recommend it.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did.  I don't know what it was that made a pretty run of the mill story so interesting but I kept coming back to it.
This is the second in a series though so I need to go back and read the first.
Pretty much my only complaint was the {Back Story}/{Subject Matter}.
The main character's parents are both unfaithful to their marriage and that kind of sets the whole plot up.
There is also a child that comes from her father's infidelity and so that situation is discussed.
The kiss at the end of the book goes into a little more detail than I like but that pretty much goes without saying these days since I have decided I don't like any detail :)
I think I could recommend this book and I look forward to reading numbers one and three when it comes out.

Running Out of Time

Easily Recommend

I finished my pile of borrowed books and ended up going to my bookshelf where I have a bunch of YA fiction I have yet to read.  I have always thought Margaret Haddix was a great author so I decided to give this one a try.  It was pretty good...nothing offensive...I think it's just kind of tricky for my brain to switch to YA all of a sudden.
I could easily recommend this as a quick, clean read.
