This was another pleasant surprise for me!
Yes, it is a fairy tale, but I found it had more depth than I expected.
For some reason (probably because of the shoes on the front) I was expecting this to be a retelling of Cinderella but it was it's own story and more closely paralleled The Little Mermaid.
There were a few mild {UM} and the main girl thought about kisses quite a bit {TMP} but those were my only two complaints.

My Dearest Enemy

I love Jennifer Moore's books but for some reason, I didn't expect to love this one as much...I don't know why.  However, it ended up being one of my favorites of hers.  I was very pleased with the twists and turns it took.  There were a few moments where I was genuinely surprised by the events that took place.  It was definitely not ALL predictable :)
I found the romantic moments just a tiny, tiny bit uncomfortable but not terrible.
Although it is a war story, the blood and gore were handled quite tactfully.
It was kind of interesting reading a book where the Americans are the "enemy" :)...a bit of a paradigm shift.
Definitely worth a read!

Though medieval isn't my favorite genre I did enjoy this book and loved how very clean it was.
It's a sweet story and I would have no problem recommending it to anyone.
Not much else to say about it...sweet and clean :)

The Rookery

Not Recommendable

Again, I was disappointed with what I was hoping would be a clean mystery series :(
There were a couple of instances of the Lord's name in vain...one rather severe one (in my opinion).  There was a little other "mild" swearing as well {L}.
{SM} There was an attempted rape that didn't get very far and a little talk of prostitutes.
{GS} The mode of multiple murders was throat cutting so even though the author does not go into descriptive detail, it does invoke somewhat gory images.
The story itself was interesting and the resolution even more interesting but sadly, I cannot recommend this series :(

This is probably not one I would have picked up on my own but my mom had bought it and loaned it to my grandma and she had really enjoyed it so I decided to give it a try.
The {TMP} rating is barely there...just a tad more than I'm comfortable with.
The story is sweet, sad and took a turn at the end that I had contemplated, but didn't really think would happen...if that makes any sense...
It is a book of forgiveness so there is quite a bit of religious reference...just in case that bothers you for some reason.
I was not familiar with this author at all and this is the first of a trilogy so I looked it up on Amazon expecting to see at least the second if not all three books available.  (This one was published in 2015).  However, this was the only book listed under Dorothy Adamek so I googled her and found a blog.  Her mother was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago and just recently passed away at the beginning of this year.  She referenced in one of the posts how caring for her mother had kind of put her writing on hold but is hoping to get back to her untold stories soon.  I sincerely hope she is able to as I would definitely be interested in reading the rest of this series.

I was very hopeful with this one as I had enjoyed Emily Organ's two, short mysteries.  It started off very well but then I became disappointed :(
There were just a couple of instances of mild {L} until a chapter about half way through the book where a certain character uses the same "D" word about 10 times in a conversation.  It drove me crazy!
Also, it did end up dealing a lot with immorality and infidelity {SM}...why do they always have to go there?
I do like her writing style though and her main character, Penny Green, is very likable.  I'm tempted to try the next one in the series and see if it's any better.
