The Ringmaster's Wife

Recommendable

I was super excited about this one...and only slightly disappointed.
The only real gripe I had about content was that in several places, God's name is used in a way that I wouldn't feel comfortable using it but I don't know that it's necessarily in vain either.
I loved the story although I did feel that it was a bit anticlimactic.
The fact that it stayed clean when it could have gone south several times made me very happy :)
It was fun reading about behind the scenes circus life and I loved that real characters such as the Ringlings were a large part of the story as well.

This was a sweet collection of holiday stories.  There were just a couple of times that I was the slightest bit uncomfortable with a kissing scene but overall, it was very clean and enjoyable.

I will start off by saying I didn't LOVE this book.  I guess I'm just not too much into modern stories.  It was clean though except for a few {UM} and just a little too much description with the kissing {TMP}.  I did love all the Audrey Hepburn references though!  That was super fun learning a little bit more about her as a real person.  I could recommend this book because there really wasn't anything objectionable in it but I probably won't just because it didn't really grab me.

Could Probably Recommend

I'm kind of still torn on this series...
Overall, it has a very good feeling so I think I'm going to go off of that.
One thing I like about Lynn Austin is that she tells stories about more than just romance.
Her characters deal with all kinds of hard, real life problems...some of them brought on by their own choices and others not so much.
In this book there is a character who is sexually abused as a young teen {SM} {BSt}
There is also more use of the "B" word in reference to a child born out of wedlock. {UM}
Some might call this book/series "preachy" because of many references made to redemption and forgiveness, but I seriously did not mind them at all.  That's what I felt made all the hard stuff bearable and gave it that overall good feeling.
It is very well written and very interesting...just deals with hard things...but I believe I could feel good recommending it.
