Charming the Recluse

This book took me a little bit to get through...a little slow feeling.
I don't remember anything that was objectionable.
There was a little bit of the supernatural written into the plot.  Sometimes that bothers me but it didn't seem to be too out of place in this story so I tolerated it.
I could recommend this book based on cleanliness but probably won't just because it didn't grab my attention as being too unique.

As far as her Latter Day Tales go, this one was midish for me.
I liked it but it did seem to drag on a bit.
There was possibly one or two {Uncomfortable Moments} but not bad.
After reading all three of these, I like them but the strong mentions of the church and its culture seem to definitely limit her audience...maybe she's fine with that.
But with that in mind, I can definitely recommend them based on cleanliness standards.

Sense and Sensibility - A Latter Day Tale

This was a fun, fast moving, version of Sense and Sensibility.
I enjoyed the characters and the modern versions of the events in the original story.
There was nothing objectionable other than a possible {Uncomfortable Moment}.
I can easily recommend this book!

I really liked this book!
The whole series has been great.
The Isle of Skye is a bucket list item for me so that was a fun setting for the first portion of the book.
I did feel like there was just a little too much description in the romantic moments (Too Much Passion) but other than that it is squeaky clean and I can fully recommend it!

Emma - A Latter Day Tale

I ended up liking this a little more than I expected to.
That being said, some of the spiritual moments didn't quite work for me.  I guess when reading fiction I don't necessarily expect or want to read about someone's fake spiritual experiences.  That seems kind of bratty but I don't know how else to put it.
Along with that, when I read books that are Latter Day Saint based, I am okay with all of the references to the culture but I can't help but wonder about what other people that aren't familiar with the church think when reading the same things.
Anyway, aside from all of the religious context, I thought it was well written and I enjoyed comparing it to the original classic.  I enjoyed seeing how Jamison took the story and made it work in a modern world.  It actually made me realize, human relationships don't really change that much through the ages since what worked in the story then, works now as well.
I could recommend this book since it was clean and a fun read through once but I don't think I will ever feel the need to reread it.

North By Northanger

Might Recommend

A modern mashup of North by Northwest and Northanger Abbey made for an interesting book.
It was a little farfetched at times but then so are the two original stories.  The main female also came across as a bit ditzy, but again, the heroine in Northanger Abbey is a dreamer so I think that was what she was going for with that characterization.
There were just a couple of {Uncomfortable Moments} and one mild instance of {Language} but other than those things I would call it clean.
As far as recommendations go, it wouldn't be something I would be eager to recommend but I wouldn't not recommend it based on content.

I enjoyed this book once I gave it the time it deserved.
While it had similar elements to a lot of the romances of this time period, it also had a few unique aspects which intrigued me.
It was well written with some well developed characters.
My only complaint was possibly the tiniest bit of {Too Much Passion}.
Other than that I could easily recommend this book.
